How we score
Trust is the product. Here's exactly how every SmartMarketPro ranking is produced.
About SmartMarketPro
SmartMarketPro publishes product reviews, comparisons and rankings to help readers assess options and evidence limits. Reviews use published material and saved evidence; we do not claim hands-on testing unless it is documented in the review. Some links are affiliate links, and qualifying purchases may earn us a commission. Affiliate payouts do not determine scores. For questions or corrections, contact support@smartmarketpro.com.
Objective signal
ClickBank Gravity is a time-weighted affiliate-sales popularity signal: it reflects affiliates who have earned commissions from selling a product. It is not a sales count, an independent product-quality rating, or evidence of clinical effectiveness. SmartMarketPro uses recorded Gravity for the Objective component of its published formula. Each reading should be understood with its collection date; updates are not guaranteed daily. For other networks, Gravity is Not applicable—not zero.
Editorial assessment
An AI-assisted assessment of the vendor's own published material and our trust and security checks, scored against a published rubric: clarity and honesty of claims (20%), evidence (20%), transparency (20%), refund terms and buyer risk (15%), seller reputation (15%) and substance of what is delivered (10%). An administrator reviews every assessment before it is published. We don't claim hands-on testing unless a review says so.
Overall score
Overall = Objective × 40% + Editorial × 60%. Products evaluated without an Objective score are shown as an "Editorial-only evaluation" and are not ranked against Overall scores. Missing evidence is never counted as zero; when there isn't enough evidence, a product is shown as "Not yet scored" instead of receiving an estimate.
Rankings
Rankings are recalculated live from the Overall scores of published products. When we change the formula, we note the date and the change on this page.
Source transparency
Each review records the source it was assessed from — the vendor's own page or administrator-verified product details — and the date it was last verified. Information we could not confirm is marked as not verified.
Rankings are never sold
We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links. Commissions, payouts and earnings per click are tracked separately and are never part of any score or ranking.
Three evaluation states
- Overall score. A stored Overall score exists. Only these products are eligible for score-based rankings such as the Top 20.
- Editorial-only evaluation. A valid editorial evaluation (at least 60% of the rubric weight assessed with evidence) but no Objective score, so no blended Overall score. Shown as "Editorial score: X/100". The editorial score is never copied into the Overall score, and these products are not ranked against Overall scores.
- Not yet scored. No valid evaluation yet. This label is used only in this case.
Networks
ClickBank Gravity exists only on ClickBank. For Impact, JVZoo and manually added products it is shown as "Not applicable". It is never estimated, replaced by another network's metric, or counted as zero. Verified network metrics may be shown separately, with their source and date, but they are not treated as equal to Gravity.
Editorial evidence
- Primary sources: the seller's own sales, order and refund pages, plus our trust and security checks.
- Third-party evidence that may be considered in an editorial evaluation, where an administrator finds it: Trustpilot and similar review platforms, independent product reviews, customer feedback and credible scam alerts.
- Reviews of the product are kept separate from reviews of the vendor. Each source is weighed for reliability, date, sample size and conflicts of interest (for example, affiliate-funded "reviews").
- Star ratings from different platforms are not averaged. Allegations are reported as allegations, not as proven facts.
- Missing reviews, or the absence of scam reports, do not raise or lower a score on their own. When evidence is insufficient we list what is missing instead of estimating.
- Each evaluation carries an evidence-confidence level and links to its sources.
What is automated today: our automated collection covers the seller's own pages and our trust and security checks. Third-party sources such as Trustpilot are not collected automatically — they enter an evaluation only when an administrator researches them and records them in that evaluation's saved evidence. Unless a review's saved evidence lists an external source, its evaluation was based on the seller's own material.
Limitations
Evaluations are AI-assisted and reviewed by an administrator. We don't claim hands-on testing unless a review says so. Evidence can change after the date it was checked.
The formula
Objective and editorial scores are always published separately, so you can weigh them however you like. When there is no Objective score, the product shows an editorial-only evaluation instead of an Overall score.
Method change — September 2026: the Objective signal is now ClickBank Gravity only and the blend changed to 40% Objective / 60% Editorial. Reviews scored before this change are labelled "Scored under our previous method" until they are re-scored.
